The World Wide Web - A Media Viewpoint |
The World Wide Web has evolved into a new advertising media and sales venue for many businesses. Since everyone isn't connected to the internet, it does not replace your traditional print media, but it does augment other media -- electronic or print -- by providing your business with: |
Content Development |
We have the "tools" to articulate your business goals. We can work with your existing advertising agency or in-house specialist to develop the appropriate message. |
Graphic Design and Execution |
We have computer graphics experience that began back in the late 60's, when punch cards and vector-graphics were "leading-edge" technologies. We have advertising and print-media production experience that began back in the mid-70's. NOW we have a new media, and we have MAC and Pentium-based desktop "tools", that provide exceptional flexibility, speed, and graphics quality.

HTML Programming |
Hyper-Text Markup Language, HTML, is the medium used to translate ordinary ASCII text into attractive, formatted typeface. The language also provides the formal "structure" and graphic tools to integrate and position pictures within the text, to produce web-pages. The language has undergone several revisions and extensions, with HTML 3.2 and 4.0 being the most current versions. We have worked with HTML for more than two years. We have on-site and on-line reference documentation. We have HTML proof-reading software to catch structural errors. We use both NETSCAPE and EXPLORER browsers to test and view our programming efforts before we release the pages to client sites. We provide complete programming services in either package / contract form or on an hourly-fee basis |
Updates and Maintenance |
Since one of the most attractive characteristics of the web is the instant access to new information, one of the challenges, as a site operator, is to provide attractive, "current" content. Web "surfers" who find your site interesting on their first pass through it, are likely to make a bookmark, or automatic "return-address" entry, in their web-browser. To keep them coming back, you need to plan regular changes to your web-site content. This may be as simple as re-organizing the same information in a different order, changing one or more graphic elements, or completly re-designing the "look" of the site, to follow the changing styles in other media. WE are constantly scanning the web, to maintain a sense of the contemporary styles. WE can provide advice or turn-key update services on an hourly-fee basis. |
Limited Site-Hosting Services |
We have the capacity to host a limited number of our web-content customers on OUR SERVER. The resulting address is a sub-directory on our server, with the visible The original intent was to get a few customers "up and running" while we processed their domain name applications, or while they shopped for a permanent ISP, internet service provider. Most do that, and it is a simple process for us to transfer all files to the new provider. At the same time, "their" clients may have made bookmarks at www.virtualbob.com, so we post a "site has moved" forwarding-address page for 3 months thereafter. The capacity can also been used to post temporary notices or press releases, by simply adding a "link" change to their permanent pages, that refers to a subdirectory page on our server. For past customers, the process is a simple phone call, or FAX with details. We construct and install the page or pages here and we, or their current ISP, add the link-modification to their "home page". |
